Phoenix Mental Health Services offers a range of services as part of our Acquired Brain Injury clinic, which include:
Initial neuropsychiatric assessment
Assessment and referral to further specialist interventions
Assessment of inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity using a remote computerised test
Assessment of neurobehavioural disability
Development of individual treatment plan
Assessment of suitability to pharmacological treatment
Assessment of suitability to non-pharmacological treatment, including a referral to our specialist Psychology team, rTMS clinic and Cogmed Coach.
Medication initiation and optimisation, including medication that is not available on the NHS.
Treatment of neuropsychiatric conditions, such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, OCD, PTSD and attention disorders, secondary to the brain injury.
Risk assessments and development of risk management plans
Mental capacity act assessments including lasting power of attorney (LPA) for Health and Finance
Reports for the DVLA
Expert witness report for the Courts
Our clinic is experienced in working closely with case managers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best patient outcomes.
Our ABI team includes a Consultant Psychiatrist, Consultant Psychologist, Community Mental Health Nurses, Consultant Dietitian, Cogmed Coach, a team of Counsellors and CBT Therapists with specialist experience in treating people with PTSD and an amazing admin team. We also have close links to speech and language therapists and social workers, should this be needed.
Our clinic prides itself on the use of outcome measures and evidence-based interventions, which allows us to provide cutting edge interventions such as tailored medication treatment according to the individuals genetic makeup, assessment of symptoms of inattention using a remote computerised test, remote mood and anxiety assessment and monitoring and sleep assessments.
Cutting edge interventions include pharmacological treatments that are not available on the NHS, such as cannabis treatment, as well as non-pharmacological interventions including Cogmed Working Memory Training, rTMS, a number of specialist psychology and dietary interventions.
Usually appointments are charged by the hour, however, bespoke packages can be created to suit each patients’ needs. We offer appointments remotely and face-to-face, either at our clinic or at the patient’s home.
