ADHD Medication
Initiation & Titration

(Post-Diagnosis)

Already diagnosed with ADHD and looking for the next step?

If you or your child has received an ADHD diagnosis elsewhere and now needs support with medication initiation, titration, and ongoing prescribing, our consultant-led team can provide a clear, safe, and joined-up medical pathway.

At Phoenix Mental Health Services, we support both adults and young people with evidence-based ADHD treatment, available nationwide online or in person in High Wycombe and Golders Green.

A clear pathway from diagnosis to treatment

Many assessment services do not provide medical treatment. We offer the next step:

  • Consultant psychiatrist review
  • Medication initiation (where clinically appropriate)
  • Structured titration and monitoring
  • Shared Care support with your GP
  • Clear follow-up and documentation

Our approach is neuroaffirmative, person-centred, and fully compliant with UK prescribing guidelines.

What happens during the medical assessment?

Your consultant-led medical appointment is designed to ensure that treatment is safe, appropriate, and tailored to the individual. It includes:

Detailed review of the existing ADHD diagnostic report
Discussion of current strengths, challenges, and goals
Screening for co-existing conditions
Full medical and prescribing assessment
Physical health and medication suitability checks
(with guidance on any required monitoring)
Clear discussion of medication options, including benefits and possible side effects
Time to ask questions and make informed decisions
Where clinically appropriate, medication can be initiated as part of this pathway.

Our goal is to ensure treatment is safe, effective, and tailored to the individual.

Titration: finding the right dose for you

Titration is a structured process where we:

  • Monitor benefits and side effects
  • Adjust medication gradually
  • Track progress against your goals
  • Provide clear guidance at every step
  • This continues until medication is stable and working well.

Shared Care with your GP

Where appropriate, we will request a Shared Care Agreement so your GP can take over prescribing once treatment is stabilised.

If Shared Care is not accepted, we offer a clear and cost-transparent ongoing prescribing pathway through the clinic.
