We offer a specialist clinic for people who have continued to struggle with COVID-related symptoms 8 weeks after the initial onset of their symptoms. An assessment with a private GP will be arranged for you to discuss your symptoms and the impact they have on your life. You will also have access to a multidisciplinary team to support your treatment plan to enable the best outcome. You can see our flow chart here for more information.
You may be eligible for an assessment for long COVID if you continue to experience some of the symptoms below 8 weeks post the onset of your COVID symptoms:
extreme tiredness (fatigue)
shortness of breath
chest pain or tightness
problems with memory and concentration ("brain fog")
difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
pins and needles
depression and anxiety
feeling sick, diarrhoea, stomach aches, loss of appetite
a high temperature, cough, headaches, sore throat, changes to sense of smell or taste
Prior to the initial assessment, you will be asked to complete some questionnaires and provide some background to your medical concerns. After the initial assessment, your GP may request that you undertake some further testing, such as blood tests. These tests can be requested through your NHS GP, but you will also have the option of completing these privately. You will also be asked to bring any recent test results with you to your appointment. If deemed appropriate, you will be prescribed medication at the appointment and this is included in the cost, however you will have to pay the pharmacy for the medication. This can vary depending on your chosen pharmacy.
