Alcohol Addictions Clinic

Alcohol addiction is a condition that is characterised by drinking alcohol in excess, to the extent that your body eventually becomes dependent on alcohol in order to function on a day-to-day basis.

Without an appropriate intervention, this kind of addiction can result in long-term psychological and physical problems and in some cases it can be fatal.

At Phoenix Mental Health Services, we offer a specialised service for those who wish to treat their alcohol addiction. Our team consists of psychiatrists and substance misuse nurses who will work together to create a comprehensive and personalised alcohol addiction treatment plan. Our team also understand how difficult it can be for the families and therefore we value their input and support throughout the process.

You can view our generalised approach and the different treatment options we offer in the flow chart below.

We also have access to, and in many cases offer, other services such as various therapies, individual, couple or family counselling, genetic testing and sleep assessments, if deemed appropriate by your Consultant. We also utilise various objective and subjective measures so we can monitor your progress throughout your treatment.

Our aim is to create a non-judgmental and highly compassionate environment to assist in addressing your challenges and helping you achieve a full and sustainable recovery. If a detox is decided to be the right intervention for you, our substance misuse nurse will conduct motivational interviewing and support you and your family throughout the withdrawal detoxification process. Since this detox takes place at home, it is a requirement that you have another person lives with you so we can suitably manage risks.

Prior to your assessment, we will ask for your permission to contact your GP to run some routine blood tests and request some information about your medical history. Please inform us when enquiring if this is an issue for you. In most cases, without this information your assessment cannot go ahead.

If you would like to book an appointment with our addiction specialist consultant, please complete the enquiry box below and our Practice team will contact you to arrange an appointment.
